Vegan cactus leather company Desserto has been nominated for Germany’s Green Product Award 2020 International Organic Products Award. Created by Mexican entrepreneurs Adrián López Velarde and Marte Cázarez, Desserto is the first organic leather made entirely from the nopal (or prickly-pear) cactus. Due to its flexibility, breathability, and durability, the cactus leather has the ability to replace the use of animal leather and synthetic materials that are not environmentally friendly.

纯素仙人掌皮革品牌Desserto已获得了德国“2020年绿色产品奖”（国际有机产品奖）的提名。Desserto材料由墨西哥企业家Adrián López Velarde和Marte Cázarez共同创立，是世界上首款完全用胭脂仙人掌（刺梨仙人掌）制成的有机皮革。这种仙人掌皮革由于具备柔韧性、透气性和耐用性，能够用来代替不环保的动物皮革和合成材料。

The Green Product Award honors companies that create innovative and sustainable products and services. This year, participants from 52 countries have applied for the award. Prizes are awarded in 13 separate categories and nominees are evaluated on a number of criteria, including impact, design, innovation, and sustainability. Winners will be selected by a jury and honored at an awards ceremony on March 11 in Munich, Germany.
