方丈微语 | “心净则国土净”如何理解？

《维摩诘经》中说：“若菩萨欲得净土，当净其心；随其心净，则佛土净。”佛教修道之人所做的功夫，都是为“净其心”，舍一分颠倒执著，便得一分解脱自在；趋近一分清净心，则见一分净土。

用大爱改善人们心中的价值观，以无我智慧来净化人们的心灵和言行，正是化解矛盾、消除烦恼，争取社会和谐的根本之道，也是佛教从事公益事业最初的本怀。

How to understand “Upon purification of the mind, the Land of Buddha is pure”?

TheVimalakīrti-nirdeśa-sūtra says, “For the achievement of Pure Land, the bodhisattva should purify his mind. Upon purification of the mind, the Land of Buddha is pure.” The efforts made by Buddhist monks and nuns is all about “purifying their mind”, and by shedding one part of cognitive distortion and attachment, one can achieve one part of liberation free from delusions. The closer one approaches to the purified mind, the sooner he or she sees the Pure Land.

Improving the values in people's hearts with great love, and purifying their hearts, words and deeds with no-self wisdom are the fundamental way to resolve conflicts, eliminate afflictions and strive for social harmony, and are also the original intention of Buddhism to engage in public service.
