首先,觉知呼吸,是一个非常简单而又实用有效的方法;是一个普遍适用的方法,不分民族、不分教派、不分信仰,呼吸是每个人生存所必需的。我们就在此地来见诸法实相。 First, breath awareness is a very simple and practical method. It is a universally applicable method, regardless of nationality, sect, belief, breathing is necessary for everyone's survival. We have come here to realise the ultimate truth. 第二,觉知呼吸,就是觉知我们的心,因为心气不二。当我们的心很紧张、很浮躁,这时候呼吸也就会急促粗重;我们的心静下来的时候,呼吸也就静下来、也就柔和起来了。 Second, the breath awareness is to focus on the mind, because the mind and the breath are the same. When our minds are very nervous and fickle, the breath will be fast and heavy; when our minds are calm, the breath will be quiet and soft. 第三,觉知呼吸,就是直接、当下断三根本烦恼。贪嗔痴都不起:我们不会起贪心,说我要多吸一点气进来;也不会对呼吸起嗔恨心;能够觉知呼吸,也没有愚痴。所以是当下觉悟的方法。而且觉知呼吸,当下切断我们内心的喋喋不休,是成就内出离心。觉知呼吸就是觉,就是菩提心。觉知呼吸就是常在正念之中,有正见。这其实是一个很简捷的方法。 Last, breath awareness is the direct and immediate removal of the three fundamental afflictions. If greed, anger and delusion do not arise, we won't be greedy and want to breathe in more air. I won't generate anger for breath. I can be aware of breath with no delusion. So it is the method of instant enlightenment. And, breath awareness and the current interruption of our inner chatter will bring about the inner mind of renunciation. Breath awareness is awakening, namely Bodhicitta. Breath awareness is to maintain mindfulness, and right thought is always there.
